In my work, I am interested in the subconscious and our connection to the unknown. In clay, subtle unconscious imprints—personally experienced or part of a more collective phenomenon—are revealed. My work has an intuitive and expressive approach, creating abstract compositions combined with motif-like forms of trees, walls, and bones. The mixture of abstraction and more defined objects or structures creates a certain tension within the work. There is something strangely familiar about it, and yet something that cannot be fully defined.
Fleeting images of shattered hybrid landscapes or bodily disasters, imbued with moods of mystery, desire, and loneliness, appear briefly before being replaced by new imaginings. The viewer is invited to engage with the objects. There is no clear story to understand or interpret; the work is about perception, engagement and the hidden possibilities of imagination.
